Haul Time! // Mac, Lush and Office!

Hi Guys

Today I went shopping with my husband to Nottingham to get some bits (although I didn’t come away with what I actually went in for!) I got a few bits from Mac that I have been eyeing up for ages, along with some shoes with are AMAZING!

(Hektor helping me take photos!)

Starting with my shoes – They are the Vans ASPCA Cat shoes, they are amazing!! I got them on sale from Office and they came to Β£25 which is a bargin as I was considering paying full price (Β£51.99) for them!  I really like Vans as I can’t really wear shoes that aren’t flat as I get a lot of problems with my hips.

Next I got a few essentials from Boots which I have needed to pick up for the past week.

Cotton wool pads for skincare, oil absorbing sheets as these are a summer essential and I also got some cotton wool buds (not pictured).  I know these aren’t very interesting but I like to see what everyone else uses for their day to day items πŸ™‚

Next onto the best part – the Mac haul!

I got a Mac 263 angled eyeliner brush for applying gel eyeliner as my one I am using currently is a cheapy off eBay and it is loosing hairs RAPIDLY.

Secondly I got two Pro Longwear Paintpots, the first shade I got was Painterly (bottom shade) which is what I am going to use as an eyeshadow base/eye primer.  The second shade I got was Rubinesque (top shade), can we just have a moment of appreciation for this colour <3.  This is such a stunning colour and the camera doesn’t pick up how utterly beautiful the shine, reflect and vibrancy this gives off! I am going to have a play with this tomorrow and let you guys know what I come up with!

Finally I got a lipstick but this is a present for my mummy for her birthday (it’s on monday) so I can’t tell you what it is yet until she gets her present.

Last but not least I went to lush to see my sister who works there and ended up picking up the Love Soap (come on who can resist glitter and limited editions!)

This soap smells just like fizzbanger the bath bomb which is one of my favorites so I love the scent of this.  It’s really fresh and clean smelling too!

Last but not least a cheesy photo taken by my sister at the store to go on the Lush Nottingham instagram (i’m on instagram under the username @catsandcontours)

Lots of love

First Impression // ReviewΒ

Hi Guys!

Todays post is a first impression friday! This is the first time i’ve used a pore stip and damn it had exciting results! I follow a pretty strict skin care routine (part one is in a post below here) and it never had occured to me to try one until I saw them in Boots today.  I popped in to get more makeup remover as I go through it like crazy (as is expected as I wear a lot of makeup) and it was another repurchase of the Garnier Micellar Water which is the best oil free makeup remover I have ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot!)

Whilst I was in Boots I picked up the Biore – ultra deep cleansing pore strips.  These are applied onto the face directly on slightly damp skin (after washing) and left to “set” for 10-15 minutes.

I applied the strip to my face following instructions and left it for 15 minutes before peeling it off.  The results were instant blackhead/blocked pore removal and it was clear (by looking at the strip) that my skin wasn’t as clear as I thought it was! Don’t worry I won’t attach a picture of the strip!

Have a lovely picture of my face with the pore strip on.

I will definetly use the rest of the strips in the pack (it came with 6) and will be on the hunt for even more skincare products to try out!

I also found this super cute notepad whilst out shopping which I am going to use to plan new blog enteries in! πŸ™‚

Hope you all had a lovely friday!

Day Out // Makeup of the Day

Hi Guys!

So something a little bit different today, I’m sharing my day with you as well as my MOTD.  Today was my husbands birthday so we went out for dinner at a restaurant near us called The Wollaton, the food was amazing and the service was perfect.  If anyone is in the Wollaton area of Nottingham I would thoroughly recommed going there as the food is phenominal.

(Sorry for the non meat-eaters out there!!)

I wore a lovely dress from Elsies Attic which was lilac with birds all over it, along with a raspberry pink petticoat and heels in the same colour.  I actually just brought this for a friends wedding but I was so excited when it arrived today that I had to put it on straight away! πŸ™‚

Now for the MOTD bit of this post.  As it was Adams birthday today I gave him the choice in makeup and he chose blue (of course the colour that I have the least eyeshadows of!)

  • Powder – Mac Prep and Prime translucent setting powder

Makeup of the day // Review // ABH Liquid Lips and Lancome Artliner

Hi Guys!

Todays post is a bit of a MOTD and a bit of a review.  I’ve recently gotten the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Craft (which is just amazing!) and rediscovered an old eyeliner that I forgot I had brought a while ago now.  This means i’ll be doing a mini review on the new products in todays MOTD.

This look was for a meal out with the family to celebrate my Grandads birthday πŸ™‚

As I did such a bold lip I decided to pair it with a simple eye look (well simple for me) and this was the perfect chance to play with my new gel liner which is Artliner by Lancome.  I had the miniture pot of this a while ago from my momma and must have brought a full sized one before moving into my flat, so as I was doing a bit of clearing through my cupboards this weekend I found a full sized, brand new sealed one!  It comes in a pit and needs to be applied with an angled eyeliner brush.  The formulation is very creamy and a lot nicer to use compared to some other ones I have used (for example the maybelline gel liner).

  • Foundation – Estee Lauder Double Wear
  • Primer – L’Oreal Infallible Matte Primer
  • Concealer – Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
  • Powder – Mac Prep and Prime translucent setting powder
  • Brows – Benefit Browzings
  • Eyeshadows – Urban Decay Naked 2 and Mac Pigment in Museum Bronze
  • Eyeliner – Lancome Artliner in black, Natural Collection white eyeliner
  • Highlighter  – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone
  • Mascara – Benefit They’re Real
  • Blush – Benefit Rockature
  • Bronzer – Benefit Hoola
  • Lipstick – Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Craft
  • Lashes – Red Cherry WSP

Tools – NARS Ita, Real Techniques Brushes and Beauty Blender.

My hair was styled with the NuMe reverse curling wand, set for 10minutes then brushed out to create a smoother and more natural wave (then hairsprayed within an inch of its life!).

Hope you are all having a lovely weeked, I sure am as i’ve got a week off starting now. πŸ™‚
